Howard Nash Options “Recall”
Howard Nash with Starrunner LLC discovered “Recall” through InkTip and optioned it from writer Tal Oren.
Nash's credits include "The Legends of Nethiah," starring Robert Picardo. “Recall” is an action/adventure TV series pilot and bible, and this is Tal Oren’s first option through InkTip.


Maurice Davis Options “Powder Brown”
Independent producer Maurice Davis found "Powder Brown" on InkTip and optioned it from Philip Dorr. Philip’s other upcoming projects include the action/thriller “The Savior,” which shoots in
Bulgaria this fall. This is Philip’s first option through InkTip.


Samuel Benavides Options “Jack-in-the-Box”
Samuel Benavides with IsoFilms, Pictures & Productions, Inc. found "Jack-in-the-Box" on InkTip and optioned it from Derrick Sherwin. Samuel will direct and co-produce. His last three films were picked up for worldwide television distribution. Derrick Sherwin is a veteran studio writer, having written for such legendary series as the original “Doctor Who.”

Francisco Orvañanos Options “Backgammon”

Francisco Orvañanos of 3:1 Cinema found “Backgammon” on InkTip, optioned the script from Todd Niemi and Raymond B. Russell, and we’re pleased to announce that the film has completed principal photography. This is the 164th feature film which started from a script or writer found through InkTip. Francisco built his directing career shooting films in
Mexico. Niemi and Russell are finishing their second script together, which is based on a forthcoming novel of Russell’s.

Upinder Raisauda Discovers Karen Buckton
Upinder Raisauda of Central Station Media in
Hollywood found Karen Buckton’s "McKenzie" on InkTip, and we are pleased to announce that the short comedy film has been produced.  The film stars comic actor Jackie Loeb.  Central Station Media's first feature length film "The Corner Shop" is currently being shown on Canadian TV.  Karen has had several successes stemming from InkTip.

We are looking for completed feature-length character-driven, offbeat scripts from Australian writers or those who qualify for residency.  We are open to various genres.  By offbeat, we mean scripts that are not TOO mainstream in their sensibilities and stories that focus on interpersonal relationships.  The script would ideally be “against the grain,” meaning not obviously derivative.  Please include a resume with your submission or it will not be considered.

 

Budget will not exceed $5 million.  Both WGA and Non-WGA writers may submit.  Writers need to qualify under Australian content provision rules, meaning Australian citizens, qualified residents, or other exceptions.

 

Our credits include “The Coca-Cola Kid” and “Storyville.”  Earlier this year, we optioned a script from an Australian writer through InkTip.

We are looking for completed, feature-length, character-driven dramas or dramedy scripts.  In other words, scripts in the vein of “Biutiful,” “The Descendants,” “A Single Man” or “The Kids Are All Right.”  The script should not venture into broad comedy and should contain very rich character depth but still a strong original premise.

Submissions need be thrillers with gritty stories and twists and turns, i.e. something in the vein of “Se7en,” but in an urban setting with punk characters.
